Former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis met for several hours in Miami this Sunday (28), according to a source close to Trump.
The meeting — their first conversation since DeSantis withdrew from the Republican Party primary in January — was organized through Steve Witkoff, a longtime Trump friend and luxury real estate developer, at DeSantis’ request, according to the source. The information was released by the Washington Post.
Witkoff is holding a fundraiser in Miami for Trump next Sunday, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by CNN.
DeSantis told donors and supporters at a gratitude retreat earlier this month that he would help raise funds for Trump, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
After his failed run for the White House, DeSantis endorsed Trump in the Republican primary, but he has not appeared with the candidate at any campaign events since.
