Republican National Committee (RNC) Co-Chair Lara Trump said Wednesday in an interview that the debates are always “heavily rigged” in President Biden’s favor.

Earlier Wednesday, Biden and former President Trump agreed to participate in two presidential debates: the first on CNN on June 27, the second on ABC on September 10.

In an interview with Fox News’ “Hannity” program, Lara Trump said that “the scales have always been tilted against Donald Trump”. But she signaled that the former president, who is also her father-in-law, is prepared to face his competitor. .

“And this year, more than ever, with all the legal warfare, with everything we’ve seen against him, in a crazy way, Sean, they’ve really prepared him for this moment because he’s not afraid of anything they throw his way. ,” Lara Trump told host Sean Hannity, referring to the four criminal charges Trump faces.

“It’s very rigged in Joe Biden’s favor, but everything always is,” she said, adding, “Despite that and even the judicial system at this point, he’s beating Joe Biden in every poll. It’s amazing to see.”

She continued: “So if Joe Biden shows up on June 27th and doesn’t make up an excuse like he has to wash his hair or something, I have full confidence that Donald Trump will surpass him.”

A recent New York Times/Siena College/Philadelphia Inquirer poll shows the former president leading Biden in five of six swing states among registered voters. While the vote raised alarm bells among some Democrats, others noted the inconsistency in the president’s performance in the polls.

A Democratic pollster for the Biden campaign, Geoff Garin, told The Hill that the Times/Siena poll results “need to be compared with the 30-plus polls that show Biden surging and winning — which is exactly why drawing conclusions broad sweeps about race based on poll results is a mistake.”

“The reality is that many voters are not paying much attention to the election and have not begun to make decisions — a dynamic also reflected in today’s poll,” Garin continued. “These voters will decide this election and only the Biden campaign will. the work to win them over.”

The Hill reached out to the Biden campaign for a response.

In a hypothetical matchup between Trump and Biden, the national average of polls from Hill/Decision Desk HQ shows the men in a virtual tie, with Biden leading by 0.3 percentage points, 44.7% to 44.4%.
