Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) criticized former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley for saying Wednesday that she plans to support former President Trump over President Biden in the November general election.

“Not a surprise, but: pathetic,” Kinzinger wrote, in response to Haley saying she would vote for Trump.

Haley was the last candidate in the Republican primary race for the 2024 presidential nomination, but suspended her campaign in March.

Throughout the race, Haley carefully balanced challenging the race leader on issues and not isolating her voters. In the final weeks of the primary race, however, she became increasingly critical of the former president, as he frequently hurled insults at her and pressured her to end her campaign.

When Haley finally dropped out of the race, she did not support the former president and warned him against banking on his supporters, saying he would need to earn their votes.

On Wednesday, Haley did not support the former president, but said she made the decision to vote for him because of political agreements.

“As a voter, I place my priorities on a president who will have the support of our allies and hold our enemies accountable, who will secure the border, no more excuses,” Haley said at the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank. . “A president who would support capitalism and freedom, a president who understands that we need less debt, not more debt.”

“Trump has not been perfect in these policies. I have made this clear many, many times. But Biden was a catastrophe. So I will vote for Trump,” she added.
