Former US president and White House candidate Donald Trump called the trial “very unfair” in a statement this Friday (31) following his guilty verdict.
“As far as the trial itself is concerned, it was very unfair. We were not permitted to use our elections expert under any circumstances. You saw what happened to some of the witnesses who were on our side, they were literally crucified by this man,” he said.
Trump went on to further criticize Judge Juan Merchan, saying “he looks like an angel, but he’s really a devil.”

“If they can do it to me, they can do it to anyone,” said Donald Trump this Friday (31), one day after his conviction on 34 felony counts in the hush money criminal trial.
The former president spoke to reporters at Trump Tower in New York.
He said the 34 counts of falsifying business records look worse than they are.
A jury found Trump guilty of falsifying business records as part of a scheme to cover up a cash payment to an adult film star shortly before the 2016 election. The case hinged on how the payment’s repayment was documented and whether it was part of a effort to help his electoral candidacy.
“Falsifying business records — that sounds so bad, to me it sounds really bad,” Trump said.
“That’s a bad thing for me, I’ve never had that before,” he added.
But Trump disputed that characterization of his crimes, saying he had a legal expense — paying lawyer Michael Cohen — and that was documented as a legal expense.
An accountant “marked it correctly in the books,” the former president said, claiming it was done “without any knowledge of me.”
