North Dakota state employee Julie Fedorchak has won the Republican nomination to represent the state in the House in her at-large seat, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ.

Fedorchak, a member of the North Dakota Public Service Commission, defeated a field of diverse candidates for the seat, including former state representative Rick Becker and Cara Mund, an attorney and former Miss America who ran as an independent for the seat in 2022.

Rep. Kelly Armstrong, who defeated Mund two years ago in his re-election bid, chose not to seek a fourth term in the House to run for governor to succeed outgoing Gov. Doug Burgum (R).

Fedorchak had the support of former President Trump, Burgum, North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven (R) and several other state officials.

She will be the favorite to win the seat in the heavily Republican state.
