During the final statement of the Debate of CNN, former President Donald Trump praised his tenure as president.
“We rebuilt the military, we got the biggest tax cut in history, we got the biggest regulation cut in history,” Trump said.
“The reason he has jobs is because I cut the regulations that provided jobs,” he commented.
The former president called Biden a “complainer” and stated that he “does nothing”.
He attacked Biden’s policies related to the border crisis and his handling of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan and other points of the president’s foreign policy.
“The whole country is exploding because of you, because they don’t respect you, and they have to respect their president. They don’t respect you all over the world,” Trump said.
Historical debate
The debate on CNN between Joe Biden and Donald Trump is the first in the 2024 presidential race, reviving the confrontation between the Democrat and the Republican for the White House.
In a historic event, this is the first time that a sitting president and a former president have debated in the United States.
The debate takes place in the studios of CNN in Atlanta, in the state of Georgia.
