US President Joe Biden downplayed concerns about his performance in the US debate CNN this Thursday (27), telling reporters that he thought he performed well.

“I think we did well,” said Biden.

When asked about calls for him to drop out of the campaign and whether he has any concerns about his debate performance, Biden lashed out at former President Donald Trump.

“No, it’s hard to debate a liar. The New York Times highlighted that he lied 26 times, big lies”, highlighted the president.

Asked if he was sick, Biden said he had a sore throat, according to the pool of journalists.

Historical debate

The debate on CNN between Joe Biden and Donald Trump is the first in the 2024 presidential race, reviving the confrontation between the Democrat and the Republican for the White House.

In a historic event, this is the first time that a sitting president and a former president have debated in the United States.

The debate takes place in the studios of CNN in Atlanta, in the state of Georgia.
