President Biden’s campaign released a new ad Friday targeting former President Trump over comments he made during the first presidential debate.

“Donald Trump doesn’t care about you,” Biden posted on social media platform X, along with the video.

The 29-second ad featured clips of Trump from the debate along with text outlining why the campaign believes the former president is a danger to democracy.

It starts with text on a black screen that says “Donald Trump doesn’t care about our veterans.” It then cuts to a clip of the presumptive Republican nominee saying the words “suckers and losers,” which became a major talking point for the Biden campaign, which the former president has disputed.

“Donald Trump doesn’t care about our democracy,” the video says, cutting to a clip of Trump during the debate saying the US was respected “around the world” on January 6, 2021, when a violent mob attacked the Capitol.

The ad then claims that Trump “doesn’t care about black families” and jumps to the former president saying, “they are taking black jobs” — a phrase that has drawn scrutiny from black Americans.

The campaign has also argued that Trump cares little about reproductive rights, with a clip of Trump saying Thursday that he put three “great” Supreme Court justices on the high court and “they voted to kill Roe v. Wade.” It’s been great.”

“Donald Trump only cares about himself,” the ad concludes. “And if he wins, he will only help himself. Because he doesn’t care about you.

Biden’s campaign appears to be doing damage control after the president’s poor debate performance, while Democrats panicked. Calls for him to step aside and give someone else the opportunity to face Trump in November have increased since the event.

At a campaign rally on Friday, Biden acknowledged the error.

“Whether young or old, here is what I know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. I know how to do this job,” he said, later adding, “I wouldn’t be running again if I didn’t believe with all my heart and soul that I can do this job because, frankly, the stakes are too high.”

“Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation,” he added.
