Some Democratic governors are seeking a meeting with the White House to discuss their concerns about Joe Biden following the president’s poor performance in the Senate debate. CNN, multiple sources with knowledge of the discussions told CNN.

The concerns of some state leaders were on display in a call between Democratic governors on Monday hosted by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, according to one of the sources.

On the call, they expressed surprise that none of them had heard anything from Biden himself. There was a strong feeling on the call that they needed to hear from the president directly.

There was also some discussion about the possibility of Vice President Kamala Harris reaching out to them.

Governors, one of the sources said, were wary of making their concerns public for fear it would prompt Biden to dig deeper.

Planning for the meeting at the White House is underway, but a conversation has not been scheduled.
