The White House press office denied this Tuesday (2) hiding information about the health of the President of the United States, Joe Biden, or the Democrat’s ability to hold office.
“Absolutely not [estamos escondendo informações]”, said Karine Jean-Pierre, advisor to the American government, after being asked about the matter.
Concern about Joe Biden’s mental and physical health is one of the main points questioned by US voters. Fears about the president’s ability to serve another term became even greater after his poor performance in the debate on CNN, last week.
“Firstly, I want to say that we understand the concerns. We understand. The president didn’t have a great night. We are not taking away what the American people saw”, highlighted Karine Jean-Pierre.
Biden appeared to have difficulty speaking, stuttering and clearing his throat at times. Furthermore, he was unable to complete a reasoning during an answer.
According to sources heard by CNN on the day of the debate, the president was recovering from a cold. Still, Karine Jean-Pierre stated this Tuesday that he did not take medication before the confrontation with Trump.
“I wouldn’t see it as an episode. I would see it as what it was and what we believe it to be – which is, it was a bad night,” she pointed out.
A survey of the CNN revealed that the majority of voters in the United States believe that the Democratic party would have a better chance of maintaining the Presidency in 2024 with a candidate other than Joe Biden.
However, the president’s campaign insisted that he will not give up the race.
