Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley on Tuesday lashed out at ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos, who rejected her suggestion last year that President Biden would not finish his term in the White House.

Haley, who ran for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination earlier this year, republished a video on social platform from his appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” (GMA) last August, when he stated that a vote for Biden is a vote for Vice President Harris.

Captioning her repost of the video on Tuesday, Haley wrote: “Believe me now, George?”

During the back-and-forth with Stephanopoulos last summer, the former GOP presidential candidate said, “There is no way Joe Biden can finish his term. I think Kamala Harris will be the next president and that should send a chill down every American’s spine.”

Stephanopoulos interjected at the time: “Excuse me. One second on this, how do you know that Joe Biden is not going to finish his term? What is that based on?”

“Ask the Americans,” Haley responded at the time. “We look at the decline he has had in recent years. You have to be honest with the American people, George: there is no way Joe Biden will finish the next term. We cannot have an 81-year-old president.”

Haley criticized Stephanopoulos as Biden faces growing calls from his own party to withdraw from the 2024 race following his disastrous debate performance against former President Trump last week.

Biden, during the forum, appeared to stumble over his words and lose his train of thought, fueling concerns about his mental acuity and ability to serve a second term.

The president has already won the Democratic nomination by winning the majority of delegates and stated that he does not intend to give up the 2024 race.

Harris’ name has been repeatedly mentioned as Biden’s potential replacement if he decides to drop out of the race. She has redoubled her support for the president and said Tuesday that she is “proud” to be his running mate.

A CNN poll published Tuesday found that she is closer to Trump than Biden.

Stephanopoulos, anchor of ABC’s “This Week” and “GMA,” will interview Biden in what will be the incumbent’s first television interview since last week’s debate. It will air on ABC, with portions of the conversation airing for the first time on Friday.

The full, extended interview will air on Sunday on both programs.

Stephanopoulos has been the anchor of “This Week” for more than two decades and was previously a top Democratic adviser and communications director for former President Clinton.

ABC will host the second presidential debate between Biden and former President Trump, scheduled for September 10.
