Former President Trump blasted ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos as the “meanest, cruelest interviewer there is” ahead of President Biden’s interview with him on Friday.

In a post on his Truth Social platformTrump called the ABC anchor “George Slopadopoulos” while dubbing his network “FAKE NEWS ABC, one of the worst and most vile networks in the business.”

The former president also noted that one of his former reporters, Brian Ross, was let go for relaying erroneous details he reported at the time that there was alleged communication during the 2016 election between Russian officials and Russia’s former national security adviser. Trump, Michael Flynn.

“Now, ABC and Liddle’ George, a small, angry man, can make up for their past indiscretions and journalistic failures by doing a real interview with Crooked Joe, not a split promo with only his few coherent answers released to the public. ”Trump wrote.

The former president has a history with Stephanopoulos and the network: He filed a defamation lawsuit against the two in March following an interview the ABC News anchor gave to Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) about questioning Stephanopoulos, saying that Trump had been found responsible for rape in the E. Jean Carroll case, when Trump had actually been found responsible for sexual abuse.

Biden is expected to give an interview with Stephanopoulos that will air Friday night, as the president tries to assuage fears about his age and mental fitness after a disastrous debate performance last week. The ABC interview will be Biden’s first since the debate.

Still, several House Democrats and other party members have begun calling on Biden to drop out of the race, raising questions about the party’s path forward ahead of its virtual slate to nominate its presidential candidate and next year’s Democratic National Convention. month.
