A member of the United States Navy tried to access President Joe Biden’s medical records “out of curiosity” but was unable to do so, the Navy said on Tuesday (9), adding that the Democrat’s medical records were not compromised at any time.
In a statement, the Navy said it was notified in February that a sailor had attempted to search for “Joe Biden” in the Army’s electronic health records system.
A US Defense official, on condition of anonymity, highlighted that the sailor tried to access the records three times within a few hours.
“The record that the sailor accessed was not the electronic record of the President of the United States… (the) system is a secure health system and at no time was the President’s personal information compromised,” the note added.
A colleague had reported the sailor’s attempt, and the Navy concluded its investigation in April. The sailor was administratively punished, but remains in the Armed Forces.
Biden has fought criticism from some members of the Democratic party that he does not have the mental acuity necessary to be the party’s nominee in the November 5 presidential election against Donald Trump.
The president says he will not abandon the campaign.
