ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos says he doesn’t think President Biden can serve another four years after a highly anticipated interview he conducted with the president last week following their weak debate.

“I don’t think he can do another four years,” Stephanopoulos is heard saying on video to a passerby on a New York sidewalk. The filming was the first obtained by TMZ.

“Earlier today I answered a question from a passerby. I shouldn’t have done that,” the anchor told The Hill in a statement provided through a spokesperson.

ABC, in its own statement, said that “George expressed his own point of view and not the position of ABC News.”

Stephanopoulos’ comments came just days after the network aired an exclusive interview with Biden following a bitter debate against former President Trump a week earlier, during which the president struggled to speak coherently and was left blank-eyed.

Biden’s onstage display renewed concerns about his age and mental competence and prompted some calls from Democrats for him to withdraw from the presidential race.

During the interview, the incumbent classified the debate disaster as a “bad night” and stated that he would continue his re-election campaign.

“I don’t think there is anyone more qualified to be president or win this race than me,” Biden said.
