House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said in an interview Wednesday that Democrats’ approach to dealing with President Biden’s health concerns amounts to “the biggest political cover-up we’ve ever seen.”

In an interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” Johnson responded to comments from former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that she was advising Democrats to “just hold off” on disclosing any concerns they may have about the president until after the important NATO summit this week.

“It’s been an incredible thing to watch on Capitol Hill,” Johnson told host Laura Ingraham when asked what he thought of Pelosi’s comments and what they “say about her confidence in Biden.”

“The Democrats are in complete disarray. They don’t know what to do. They don’t have a plan B, but they know they have a serious problem,” Johnson continued, “You’re right: it’s the biggest political cover-up we’ve ever seen, perhaps in US history, and it’s the most consequential too.”

Ingraham also asked him about Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.), who has stuck to the “I’m with Joe” line, while questions center around the president’s candidacy after a poor debate performance last month past. She noted that those three words do not explicitly endorse Biden’s re-election bid.

“It’s open to individual interpretation,” Johnson responded. “It was very carefully worded and he repeated it over and over again, which is not like Chuck Schumer. He likes to make a lot of comments.”

“They don’t know what to say here, Laura. That’s the issue: they are really in trouble”, continued the president of the Chamber. “And they did this to themselves because they tried to hide the truth from the American people for 3.5 years.”

He added: “We have all been saying this, but the media has gone along with your whole charade. And now the fun is over. And now everyone can see it.”

Alarm bells have been ringing about Biden’s mental acuity since June 27, when he appeared to stumble over his words and lack energy in a debate against former President Trump. The event sparked concern among Democrats about his ability to defeat Trump or serve another four years, and many called on him to step aside.
