On Friday, President Joe Biden sought to draw policy contrasts with former President Donald Trump, linking him directly to the conservative plan known as “Project 2025.”

He attacked Trump in several new ways, including explicit claims that Trump raped a woman. Biden read from a court ruling against Trump in the E. Jean Caroll defamation case.

“Donald Trump was found responsible for sexual assault by a judge who told us not to be fooled by the way Trump downplays it,” Biden said. “That’s what the judge wrote, I quote, the judge in the case wrote ‘Mr. Trump’s attempt to minimize sexual abuse as frivolous. Mr. Trump raped her.””

“That’s the judge’s language, not mine,” Biden added. “He raped her. How many people understand the word rape.”

Among other direct attacks on Trump, Biden called the former president a “loser” and “convicted criminal.” He accused Trump of “riding around in his golf cart, filling out a card before hitting the ball,” and said he “declared bankruptcy six times.”

“He went bankrupt even running a casino,” Biden said. “I didn’t think that was possible. Doesn’t the casino always win?”

Biden also highlighted Trump’s own verbal slips — the day after Biden even called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “President Putin” and referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump.”

“I don’t think they remember that Trump called Nikki Haley ‘Nancy Pelosi,’” Biden said.

The president spoke to supporters using a teleprompter, but appeared to deviate from the script at several points in the speech.
