Photographer Doug Mills, from the New York Times, captured the moment that former President Donald Trump was reportedly shot during a rally last Saturday (13). The image shows a silvery blur that, according to expert analysis, shows the trajectory of the shot.
According to the photographer, the shutter speed was 1/8000 of a second. This would allow the projectile to travel 12 centimeters at the instant recorded.
Doug Mills spoke about covering the bombing CNN. The photographer stated that it took him a while to understand that he would have a record of the bullet next to Trump. And that the editorial staff of the newspaper that identified the object for the first time.
“I get goosebumps talking about it. There was a lot of adrenaline going on (…) When I started looking at the photos I took to send to the office, I thought I should prioritize him being taken off the stage, showing the bloody ear and the clenched fist he showed,” said Doug Mills.
