50 Cent, who started trending on social media after the attempted assassination of former President Trump, will not attend the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, ITK has confirmed.
The “In Da Club” rapper “will be in Shreveport preparing for his upcoming Humor and Harmony festival” scheduled for next month, a rep for 50 Cent said Monday.
Talk of the 49-year-old artist potentially appearing at this week’s RNC has increased following Saturday’s shooting at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. One participant was killed and two people were seriously injured, while the former commander-in-chief said a bullet pierced his ear.
After the attack, social media users began posting images of Trump set to the song “Many Men” by 50 Cent. The 2003 song includes lyrics about surviving a shooting: “Too many men wish death on me/Blood in my eyes, man, and I can’t see/I’m trying to be what I’m meant to be.”
50 Cent was reportedly shot nine times in 2000.
The artist, who was born Curtis Jackson, posted an X-altered image on the cover of his album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” with Trump’s face superimposed on his body.
“Trump gets shot and now I’m trendy”50 Cent wroteto his nearly 13 million followers on Saturday.
The music star’s rep did not respond when asked if 50 Cent supported Trump’s run for the White House in 2024.
Last month, during a visit to the Capitol, 50 Cent said he hadn’t yet decided who he would support in the November elections. In 2020, he appeared to support Trump over now-President Biden, but later said he “never liked” the 45th President.
