Republicans are gathering in Milwaukee, United States, this week for the party’s National Convention. At the event, Donald Trump was announced as the presidential candidate and Ohio Senator JD Vance was announced as his running mate.

This Tuesday (16), the second day of the event takes place.

Speakers this second night of the Republican National Convention will include GOP Senate candidates, House members, a reality TV star, one of Trump’s final vice presidential candidates and his main primary rivals.

The second night of the convention will focus on crime and immigration.

What to watch for at the convention:

Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is scheduled to speak at the event on Tuesday night (16).

In her speech, she will “address voters who are unsure about voting for President Trump and explain why she is voting for him,” a source with knowledge of her comments told CNN.

Haley ran against Trump for the Republican Party nomination earlier this year.

Tech entrepreneur and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is expected to pitch Trump to black voters, immigrants and young voters, according to an excerpt of his comments shared with CNN.

The program will also feature speakers who have changed parties since Trump entered politics, including Representative Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and West Virginia Governor Jim Justice.

Marco Rubio, senator from Florida and considered a possible choice by Trump for vice president, is also scheduled to speak on Tuesday night.

Trump appearances

Trump and vice presidential nominee Vance are expected to appear together nightly at the convention, a source familiar with their plans told CNN.

In addition to an appearance scheduled for Tuesday night (16), Vance will make his first formal speech as Trump’s running mate at the convention on Wednesday (17).

Trump is expected to speak on Thursday (18) and accept his nomination as the party’s presidential candidate.

Donald Trump. Jr said his father “softened” the comments in his speech after the weekend’s attempted murder.

Trump and Vance will also hold a rally in Michigan, a swing state, on Saturday (20).

The appearance marked the first time that the former president of the United States was seen after the assassination attempt against him at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday (13).
