Adrianne Shropshire began her political work as a community organizer in California, focusing on police accountability, economic justice, and youth empowerment in South Los Angeles neighborhoods.

In 2016, Shropshire founded BlackPAC, an organization dedicated to educating and mobilizing African American voters. Through this work, she developed programs to engage hundreds of thousands of voters and helped pass progressive policies across the country.

In this week’s edition of The Switch Up election series, Shropshire discusses the most pressing issues for Black voters before November, where Black Americans have succeeded over the past four years, and the work that still needs to be done.

Editor’s note: This episode was recorded prior to President Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

The Switch Up podcast series — hosted by The Hill’s Cheyanne M. Daniels — explores the intersection of race and politics through intimate conversations with leading scholars, advocates, and policymakers from communities of color. followThe changeaboutSpotify.
