Trump plans to attend and present Q&A at the Black Journalists Convention in Chicago

Former President Trump will participate the gathering of black journalists in Chicago this week, his campaign’s latest effort to secure the support of black voters, a key demographic group ahead of November.

Trump will participate in a question-and-answer panel with political journalists attending the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) “Annual Convention and Career Fair,” which begins on Wednesday, his campaign announced on Monday.

The chat, moderated by Rachel Scott of ABC News, Harris Faulkner of Fox News and Kadia Goba of Semafor, will focus on “the most pressing issues facing the Black community,” according to press releases from NABJ and the campaign. Trump.

“We hope our attendees will hear from former President Trump on the critical issues that most concern our members and their audiences,” NABJ President Ken Lemon said in a statement.

“While NABJ does not support political candidates as a journalism organization, we understand the serious work of our members and welcome the opportunity for them to ask tough questions that will provide the truthful answers Black Americans want and need to know,” Lemon added. .

The event will be broadcast live to the public at noon local time, but only convention attendees will have in-person access.

Vice President Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has also been invited to attend this year’s convention, NABJ said. The group noted that “its confirmation is pending.”
