Melania Trump defends unity and says that the “safety” of Americans would be her main concern if her husband, former President Trump, wins his bid to return to the White House.
“The safety and well-being of American families remains my top priority,” said the former first lady told Fox News Digital in a story published Friday.
“Our children are our future leaders, the innovators of tomorrow,” Trump said.
The 53-year-old former model launched “Be Best,” her anti-bullying and child welfare initiative, in 2018 while in the White House.
“We must unite in our effort to establish a society where equality is the everyday experience of all Americans,” she said in the Fox News Digital interview.
“Together, we must nurture and safeguard the seeds of freedom,” she said. “Because when successful, America flourishes into a magnificent place where everyone can practice their beliefs, share new ideas and express individualism – that’s when we are at our best.”
Trump’s comments come just before a rare public appearance on Saturday, when she is set to speak at an event at Mar-a-Lago, the former president’s Florida resort, for the Log Cabin Republicans, the largest Republican organization. representing LGBTQ individuals. She remained practically absent from the campaign alongside the former commander-in-chief.
Last month, while voting with her husband in Florida’s Republican primary, a reporter asked Trump if she would return to the campaign trail.
