A WOMAN who flew to Turkey for a “mummy makeover” was left with “the most excruciating pain” after undergoing four surgeries in one day.

Brittany Barkway flew 8,000 miles from Australia to Turkey for a tummy tuck, breast lift and implants, full-body liposuction and Brazilian butt lift all at once.

Despite having gone through labor pains, the mother said she had never felt anything like this before and stated that she “would prefer to have triplets”.

Brittany, 26, flew to Turkey 14 months after having her daughter, paying $20,000 (£10,522) in total – including flights – and going under the knife on April 30.

But after she woke up, she felt “unbearable pain” and claims three bags of morphine had little effect.

“The goal was to get a mummy makeover and look better than my postpartum body,” says Brittany, a dental assistant from Melbourne, Australia. What is TheJam.

“After having my daughter, my postpartum body wasn’t great.

“I had loose skin around my stomach and my breasts drooped.

“I had my surgery in Turkey because there are not many good plastic surgeons in Australia who have a good reputation in BBLs, and Turkey is the leading plastic surgery country in the world.

“It was always something I wanted to do.”

Brittany decided to have all four procedures done in one day so she could go home and see her son.

She said: “For me, the easiest thing was to have surgery, have a blast, not be away from my baby for too long and come home and recover from everything at once.”

My cheap BBL in a hotel room left me with black holes in my butt that leaked silicone for 6 months

But the mother woke up from the surgeries in excruciating pain.

She said: “When I came out of surgery it was pain I had never felt before.

“[It was] Such a big procedure to go through, so my body wasn’t used to doing many things at once.

“My daughter’s birth lasted four hours and wasn’t that intense.”

Brittany shared a clip of herself on TikTok after waking up in pain, saying she “would rather have triplets.”

In the clip – which has garnered 2.7 million views – she says: “I’m telling you this is the most unbearable pain I’ve ever been through.

“I took three bags of morphine and I can still feel absolutely everything.”

Prepare yourself adequately mentally for these procedures, ask for pain relief, don’t be afraid to say what you think is wrong or something doesn’t feel right

She is not the first to experience excruciating pain after flying to Turkey for a “mummy makeover”.

Danielle Hunt, 35, from Manchester, traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, in October 2022 to have a breast implant replacement, a tummy tuck and liposuction – but was left in “terrible pain” and a green pussy oozing from her wounds.

Stephanie Frampton also opted to have a tummy tuck, breast lift and liposuction at a clinic in Turkey and was left in agony months later after suffering an infection that slowly ate away at her skin.

‘DO YOUR RESEARCH’

Despite the experience, Brittany still said the surgeries were “worth it,” looking back on them a week later.

She said: “I look at my body seven days after the operation and I think it already looks great.

“But I still have a long way to go in terms of recovery – normally it’s three months.

“Abdominoplasty hurts the most and is most uncomfortable than any other procedure.”

For anyone seeking something similar, Brittany advised, “My message would be to mentally prepare adequately for these procedures, ask for pain relief, don’t be afraid to say what you think is wrong or something doesn’t feel right.”

“Do your research about the clinic and take someone with you.

“Take a walk before you have surgery and make sure you’re getting exactly what you want.”

The UK government met with Turkish officials last year following the death of 31-year-old British citizen Melissa Kerr during a BBL operation.

In recent years, at least 28 Britons have died – seven in Turkey – following complications from BBL operations.

However, a Sun investigation found that doctors in Turkey exploited legal loopholes to offer consultations by promising operations at reduced prices.

What are the risks of having surgery abroad?

It’s important to do your research if you’re considering cosmetic surgery abroad.

It may cost less than in the UK, but you need to weigh the potential savings against the potential risks.

Safety standards in different countries may not be as high.

No surgery is without risks. Complications can happen after surgery in the UK or abroad.

If you have complications after an operation in the UK, your surgeon will be responsible for providing follow-up treatment.

Overseas clinics may not provide follow-up treatment or may not provide it to the same standard as in the UK.

Additionally, they may not have a healthcare professional in the UK that you can see if you have any problems.
