Karen Shetty said her extra finger is growing next on its left, the pinky had a bone but no joints, hence its ability to rotate it.

The gym-goer went viral after sharing how useful his extra pinky is during his workouts.

Karen was originally born with 12 fingers, but the sixth on his right hand had to be cut off when he was younger due to an infection.

Now the 26-year-old is just 11. He attributes the strange phenomenon to his genes, as he’s not the first member of his family to be born with a few extra digits.

Not only did his great-grandfather have it, but so did three grandparents and an aunt.

In a clip shared on Instagram, which has already accumulated 5.9 million views and more than 92.8 thousand likes, he shows how he uses his little finger at the gym, which grows right next to his pinky.

“In this generation, I’m the one who has it now,” said Karen, a network engineer from Mumbai, India. What is the jelly.

“That makes me unique.

“I can feel my finger, it has bone, but no joints.

“It can rotate up to 360°, as it has no joints.

“Some of my family members even had fingernails growing.”

Her extra finger is often an object of fascination for those around her, Karen shared.

“People around me think it’s cute and soft, they like to hold it and play with it.

“I also do magic shows for children under seven because it’s something unusual for them.”

In the video, he shows the front and back of his hand to the camera, showing the 11th little finger that has grown just after the pinky.

He picks up a weight at the gym and turns his finger to hug the other side of the handle.

Karen then begins to lift the weight.

He captioned the clip: “Say ‘Hi’ to my beautiful sixth finger,” which garnered hundreds of comments.

Isiah said, “Man, that’s not fair.”

Juan commented: “Pinky promises he’s the strongest guy in the game.”

Brad wrote: “It has the updated grip locker.”

Alejandro added: “Extra grip power Cool.”

The medical term for extra little fingers on one or both hands is “ulnar polydactyly” and is quite common, according to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

They are usually inherited, with a 50% chance of happening if it runs in the family. But the phenomenon can also occur spontaneously.

Sometimes the extra toe is well formed, but it is more common to have a narrow base or shaft and be soft.

This can put the finger at risk of spraining, which can cut off the blood supply and be painful.

Parents have the option of removing their baby’s extra toes, usually with a short operation.

Otherwise, the digits can be glued to the little fingers to avoid pain and spraining.
