A mother claims she was butchered by a plastic surgeon and “left to rot” with fist-sized holes in her stomach.

When Victoria Michaels woke up from her tummy tuck procedure, she said she felt “unbearable pain” and the surgeon was nowhere to be found.

Victoria expected to wake up with the figure of her dreams – but instead she was confronted with a “horrific” mutilated body.

The 30-year-old criticized her doctor saying the woman “nearly killed her” and gave her the “worst treatment ever” during what should have been a routine tummy tuck operation.

She told The Sun: “The surgeon went on holiday and left while I was in this condition.

“It was really hard to get through and it looked horrible. When I brought it to their attention, they just didn’t care.”

Victoria, from New York, said she had “tomato red” skin with two infected holes in her stomach.

She explained how an infection was caused by a drain removal that she claimed “should not have been done at that time”.

Drain removal is a tube that removes moisture from a wound after an operation.

Victoria said: “It was still very full, and when you drain it before all the fluid is drained, you can create and retain an infection.

“That’s exactly what happened, the doctor removed it and it led to me being stuck with a wound vacuum, which was the most excruciating pain of my life.”

Not only did the mother have to deal with the agony of the initial wounds, but her torment continued long after they had healed.

The surgery, carried out in the US, left Victoria with thick scars across the middle and lower part of her stomach.

She was also left with excess loose, saggy skin, which she said looked “like a hot dog.”

The beauty technician had lost more than 200 pounds to prepare for the operation and was distraught to think her efforts had been in vain.

Instead of finding new confidence, Victoria felt “horrible” and didn’t have enough money to fix the failed operation.

She said she “received the worst treatment ever,” which made her feel like she “didn’t matter.”

“It sucked because you have to really prepare yourself to be able to go through something as scary as having someone cut your skin,” she explained.

She added: “I remember waking up from that surgery and thinking ‘finally I won’t have to deal with this, I can enjoy the fruits of my labor and lose weight at almost 200 pounds’.

“Waking up and seeing the opposite happen is absolutely horrifying.

“It was horrible and sad the way I was treated and made me feel like I didn’t matter as a patient.”

But in an unlikely turn of events, it was the TikTok community who offered Victoria a lifeline.

She posted a clip of her story on the platform and it went “totally viral” – with many tagging “a frenzy” of doctors in the comments section.

His story was brought to the attention of renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Subbio.

“He reached out and said he would do a professional good at no cost, just because he knew I did all the work to lose weight,” Victoria said.

“He came forward and literally crushed everything, but there was a lot of work, because there was very poor work from the previous doctor.”

Victoria has undergone the first stage of her corrective surgery but will need a second operation this month.

A tummy tuck procedure can cost between £5,000 and £10,000 – but Victoria has not revealed how much she spent.

Victoria shared a warning message for anyone considering having the operation.

She said, “Do your research. I made mine, but that’s why I tell you to research even more than you think, because I was looking for a long time.

“I went through three consultations and I chose the one where I was like ‘wow this is it’ and it still happened to me.”

Victoria added: “It was horrible. I’ve never been through anything like this in my life.

“The whole situation was mentally traumatic, physically traumatic. It made you feel like you were worthless.

“That’s how I felt with that surgeon. It was terrible care.”

Victoria is now trying to take legal action against the surgeon.

“I really hope for legal justice because it has been a nightmare and there is more to come,” she said.

Despite her terrifying ordeal, Victoria found a silver lining in the TikTok community.

“Tiktok changed my life. I love creating content there,” she said.

She added: “I am financially responsible for my next surgery. So people look for me.

“They’re like, ‘How can we donate? What can we do to contribute to a cause?’”

Victoria now feels she is “on the other side” of her trauma and intends to publicize the surgery.

Risks of plastic surgery abroad

OVERSEAS surgeons are not subject to the same rules, regulations and training as doctors in the UK.

This means that you cannot guarantee the safety of the equipment or materials used.

Unsterilized equipment drastically increases the risk of infection, which can lead to necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating insects), sepsis, or even death.

Additionally, if you opt for fillers or injections in any part of your body, there is no way of knowing whether doctors are using dangerous substances.

Plastic surgeons have warned against cut-price surgery as there is a real risk you could be injected with “dangerous substances”.

Professor Ash Mosahebi, honorary secretary of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), said most patients opt for cheap injections or implants to enhance their butt.

“If they are having injections then God knows what they are being injected with, whether it is safe or whether it is sterile,” he told The Sun Online.

“Oil, for example, makes it look bigger for a few days, but then it shrivels and an infection like sepsis is likely to set in.

“I know that silicone oil is being used, which should not be used for medical purposes.

“I’ve heard about cement, but I’ve never seen it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was things like that.

“Most of the time, injections also end up containing a lot of bacteria because they are not sterile.”
