TEENAGER Daisy-May Demetre rests after becoming the youngest double amputee to climb Snowdon.
Daisy-May, 13 – born with a calf defect – tackled Wales’ highest peak with her dad.
Alex, 40, from Birmingham, said: “We are so proud of her. I thought it was difficult, but Daisy did it using prosthetics.
“It’s a great achievement and we are very proud of it.”
Daisy has also modeled in London, Paris and New York.
Demetre, who has an older sister Ella, 15, now has 100,000 followers on Instagram and is also in the process of casting for a Hollywood film.
In the coming months, she will also receive a special robotic knee, which will give her more control over her movements.
Alex added: “She is excited to be old enough now to receive the robotic knee. If you walk down the street behind her, you wouldn’t know she has two prosthetic legs, but her leg sticks out slightly to the side when she moves, which can eventually affect her hips.
“So the robotic knee will help with that. She will also be able to use a treadmill, which she loves for her fitness.
Ben Lovell, a double amputee who runs Amp Camp, which are week-long camps in Tenerife for amputees to build their confidence and fitness, said: “Daisy is the youngest double amputee to climb Snowdon.
“It’s an incredible achievement.”
