A VIDEO shows the incredible transformation of a woman who had a huge 77-pound tumor removed from her uterus.
The growth was so large that it looked like a beach ball sticking out of her belly, and it hung down to her knees whenever she stood up.
Li Qingfeng, from southern China’s Guangdong province, was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid in 2012.
Fibroids are noncancerous tumors that develop in or around the uterus and tend to be made up of muscle and fibrous tissue.
They tend to vary in size, but Li’s grew so much that it expanded her waist by 143 cm (56 inches) – more than five feet – over the course of five years.
As Li depended on a disability benefit from the Chinese government, she was unable to pay for treatment for her fibroid.
But she also couldn’t walk or sleep because of the pain.
Tang Hongsheng, gastroenterologist at Guangzhou Medical University Affiliated Cancer Hospital and Institute, said South China Morning Post: “Li’s condition was very serious.
“When she got up, the tumor went down to her knees.
“I compressed her veins, which caused severe swelling in her lower limbs.
“She had difficulty eating as the tumor was also compressing her stomach and intestines.”
The images show Li even struggling to get comfortable as he tried to lie down under the weight of the growth.
She was finally able to go to hospital in 2017 after receiving help from charities.
She was examined by more than 10 medical specialists and was able to undergo surgery to remove the tumor, which lasted eight hours.
The growth was so large that doctors had difficulty removing it from Li.
Dr Hongsheng said: “I remember it took three doctors to move the tumor when it was removed.
“The tumor weighed 34kg (77lb). Additionally, 3.5kg of ascites was also removed from his stomach.”
Ascites is an accumulation of fluid in the abdomen.

A medical team from the hospital visited Li four years after she had the tumor removed in 2021.
They brought ultrasound equipment for a check-up.
Miraculously, doctors found no new tumors.
Dr. Hongsheng said he felt it was his “duty” to treat Li.
“But for Li, the surgery not only cured his illness but also gave him a happy life,” he said.
Li praised the doctors as “very kind”, saying she now had a “healthy body and a better life”.
