TWO brothers born with different, potentially fatal heart defects, one in ten million, are battling it out.
Lennox Crook, five, and Sonny, three, needed complex surgery when they were just days old.
But now the pair, pictured in England kits ahead of the Euros, enjoy playing football and cycling together.
Parents Danielle, 30, and Joe, 32, said the boys helped each other during high-risk hospital stays.
Joe said: “We were told there was no genetic link and that we were incredibly unlucky.”
The Southampton couple were told that Lennox had aortic stenosis – where the main aortic valve is too narrow – and he had it replaced.
They later discovered that Sonny has another condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, in which the left side of the organ does not develop properly.
From him big Brother has helped him cope with two open-heart surgeries, but he may need a transplant.
Joe added: “Lennox was always there for him. Sonny loves riding his bike with him and playing football together. He gets more tired easily, but he loves it.”
Tiny Tickers, a charity that promotes improvements in detection, said: “It’s great that they are doing so well.”
