A FUMING consumer has criticized the coffee company for its refund policy.
The buyer claimed they were unable to get a refund from Dunkin’ when using their rewards points.
“Still no refund from @dunkindonuts, I’m very disappointed,” said the tweet to read.
“I’m going to have to start getting my coffee elsewhere when I’m out. Paying $5 for something and getting nothing is unacceptable. Dunkin needs to do better.”
Dunkin’ Rewards is a customer loyalty program that allows members to receive and redeem points for rewards.
The coffee company promises members will earn 10 points for every $1 spent on eligible purchases in-store and on the Dunkin’ app.
Rewards customers who visit 12 times in a month can unlock an “enhanced status” and start earning 12 points for every $1 spent for 3 months.
Members also receive exclusive offers, discounts and surprises.
Dunkin’ Rewards members rave about the extra points they receive on any purchase made the day before, the day after, or the day after their birthday.
Despite the perks, several Dunkin customers have expressed their frustration with the company’s return policy.
“Each prize has a unique number and can only be used once. Once the prize is applied, it will not be refundable,” said the website read.
However, several consumers said they were successful in requesting a refund.
One social media user told consumers to scroll through the Dunkin’ mobile app and select the “Get Help” option and then “Chat with a virtual assistant or call.”
“They will try to give 250 points, but they will just refuse and try to talk to a real person,” the user said.
“Personally, I have received several responses about refunds for in-app orders,” said another.
The consumer said he received mixed responses from Dunkin’s customer service representative when requesting a refund.
Sometimes they are told “there is nothing that can be done,” but other times they are told to return the receipt the next day for a refund.
In some cases, Dunkin’ employees told the consumer to show the Dunkin’ scan code so they could issue a refund on the spot.

“You could email customerservice@dunkinbrands.com with a screenshot of your mobile order and explain why you want a refund,” a third user suggested. “I did that and they reimbursed me within a few days.”
The US Sun reached out to Dunkin’ for clarification on its refund policy, but they did not respond for immediate comment.
Frustrated Dunkin’ consumers said they prefer Starbucks’ points system and will start buying their coffee from the rival company.
Meanwhile, Dunkin’s Halloween menu has been quietly revealed.
And customers were shocked to receive half-full drinks after ordering light ice, but were told that was store policy.
