“Now if this isn’t a hoax, I don’t know what is,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

“Listen, don’t repeat, don’t sign up for Crunch Fitness. They’re like Planet Fitness, they try to hold you hostage to a membership even if you don’t like it,” she added.

Several Facebook users responded to the post, sharing similar experiences about Crunch Fitness.

“They did the same thing to me,” said one user.

“I never stepped foot there. They offered a trial and kept trying to make excuses when I tried to cancel the free trial. Then they still charged me. I told my bank and selected services I never received, which I didn’t,” they added.

Another user advised consumers to keep an eye on their bank accounts.

“Make sure you check your account because I was going to them and they charged my account four times in one month,” they warned.

According to Crunch Fitness websitea basic monthly gym membership should cost between $9.99 and $19.99.

Crunch Fitness charges $9.99 for a basic membership, $22.99 for a Peak membership, and $31.99 for our Peak Results membership.

Price may vary depending on location and membership option.

There are more than 400 Crunch Fitness locations nationwide.

The site provides specific instructions on how to cancel or freeze a membership, but asks that members contact their home gym directly for more information.

“Some Crunch gyms are independently owned and operated by franchisees; as such, cancellation policies and procedures may vary by location based on state and local guidelines,” the website says.

“Please check with your local club for details if you have any questions about canceling your membership. Please note that any cancellation requests will not be processed until you receive confirmation from your club.”

For those trying to cancel their subscriptions online, Crunch asks you to fill out a virtual form survey.

After completing the questionnaire, a representative will contact you regarding your cancellation.

Gym-goers have expressed their frustration with complicated cancellation policies designed to make people pay for memberships they don’t always want or use.

Meanwhile, an angry customer blasted the retailer on social media for canceling his subscription following a sign-up error.

And Etsy is set to offer new membership levels for buyers and sellers.
