A WALMART shopper has spoken out about his frustrations after being forced to use the retail giant’s self-checkout.
During the shopping trip, the customer encountered a second problem that pushed him over the edge.

A Walmart shopper responded to a X post that said: “I have a dream…that one day I will wake up and read the news and not pronounce F once. Pray for me.”
User X shared his feelings about using the self-checkout line at the retail giant.
“I try to get through the store checkout without swearing,” said one. Sometimes I can make fries,” the Walmart shopper wrote in X.
The customer then encountered a second problem: adding fuel to the fire of his initial feelings toward Walmart.
“Walmart bags get stuck together and I end up throwing some of the motherfuckers on the floor trying to find one that will open while swearing under my breath.”
Retailers have been criticized for their self-checkout queues.
Walmart recently implemented a 15-item or fewer policy at self-checkout kiosks in select stores.
Although it hasn’t hit stores nationwide, customers are already frustrated with the changes.
“Dundalk Walmart sucks bro,” one user posted on X.
“I have 23 items, so I can’t use self checkout.
“So for them, it will be quick to wait in line behind 8 people who have 70 items in their carts.
“That makes a lot of sense. Why not self-checkout maybe 35 items or less?”
Walmart responded by asking for more details about the shopper experience.

Walmart only recently implemented the new express policy, while Target has been doing self-checkout for 10 items or less.
Latest self-checkout changes
Retailers are evolving their self-checkout strategy in an effort to speed checkout times and reduce theft.
Walmart shoppers were shocked when self-checkout lanes at several locations were made available only to Walmart+ members.
Other customers reported that self-checkout was closed at specific times and they were offered more cashiers.
While shoppers feared that shoplifting would fuel the updates, a Walmart spokesperson revealed that store managers are simply experimenting with ways to improve checkout performance.
One bizarre experiment included an RFID-powered self-checkout kiosk that would thwart fiercely contested receipt checks.
However, this test has been discontinued.
At Target, items are being limited in auto-checkout.
Last fall, the brand researched new express self-checkout lanes in 200 stores with 10 items or less for added convenience.
In March 2024, this policy was expanded to 2,000 stores in the US.
Shoppers also identified their local Walmart stores restricting customers to 15 items or less to use self-checkout machines.
The targeted shoppers also expressed their anger while shopping at the department store.
One customer shared that they had to wait half an hour to check out after Target closed the self-checkout lanes.
“If you are going to do self-checkout, you need to have enough cashiers and baggers,” the Target shopper wrote Maggie Martinez.
“Having to wait more than 30 minutes in line with 1 box, without a bagger, is ridiculous!
“Especially when other employees stand around without helping!” she continued.
“Pull yourself together!” she recommended it to Target.
