A POPULAR sandwich chain is the latest to enter the fast food value wars with a new combined deal.

Jimmy John’s announced its $10 total meal package, which includes an 8-inch sandwich, a drink, fries, and a cookie or brownie.

Other locations, like Chili's, recently launched their new Big Smasher, a larger version of the Big Mac that comes with fries and a drink for less than $10 at the restaurant.

The 2,600-location chain joins heavyweights like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Starbucks, Popeyes and Taco Bell in rolling out value deals.

Food chains are introducing such deals in response to falling customer numbers as Americans, fed up with two years of price hikes, actively stay away.

“We know there are many value offerings on the market, but with the introduction of the $10 total dining package, our guests don’t have to choose between price and quality,” said Jeff Cobb of Jimmy John’s.

McDonald’s launched a $5 meal deal earlier this summer that includes a McChicken or McDouble, four-piece chicken nuggets, fries and a drink.

Burger King’s $5 Your Way Meal, similar to McDonald’s, was the first to hit restaurants in June.

Customers can choose from three sandwiches — a Whopper Jr., a Bacon Cheeseburger or Chicken Jr. — plus four chicken nuggets, fries and a soda.

Wendy’s offers a $3 breakfast and a four-item meal for $5, similar to McDonald’s and Burger King.

Starbucks has made a surprising entry into the value wars with a coffee and breakfast combo starting at $5.

McDonald’s, which made a staggering $14.5 billion in profit last year, is desperately trying to combat the perception that it has raised prices so much that they are no longer good value.

Last month, McDonald’s US President Joe Erlinger wrote an open letter to customers claiming that the price increases are not as bad as some media reports.

Chili’s Offers a ‘$5 Value Meal’ Alternative and Customers Are Saying It’s ‘Better Than Fast Food,’ But You Need to ‘Play’

In it, he stated that prices have “only” risen 40% in restaurants since before the pandemic.

Casual restaurant chains like Applebee’s have also entered the value dining market in a bid to attract customers from fast food rivals like McDonald’s.

The move to compete with fast-food chains echoes that of Chili’s, which just did something similar.

The chain recently launched its new Big Smasher, a larger version of the Big Mac that comes with fries and a drink for less than $10 at the restaurant.

However, the introduction of these value meals reflects a broader trend in the fast-food industry.

As inflation affects consumer spending, many customers are looking for ways to stretch their dollars without sacrificing quality.

This is especially true when it comes to food.

Value dining offers a way for these chains to maintain customer loyalty while attracting new customers who may be hesitant to spend more on dining out.

As fast-food chains vie for customers with competitive prices and value meals, Jimmy John’s hopes its $10 total meal package will appeal to customers looking for quality and affordability.

With this new offer, the sandwich chain aims to gain a foothold in the competitive fast-food market and prove that customers do not need to compromise on flavor or value in difficult times.
