A FURIOUS Walmart shopper has lashed out at the retailer, claiming its checkout process is disorganized and inefficient.

The chain’s reliance on self-checkout at several U.S. stores has been a source of controversy for many.

Shoppers took to social media to complain about understaffed stores and long self-checkout lines.

“@WalmartInc just left Walmart in Hendersonville, NC leaving my cart behind with approximately $130 worth of merchandise and dog treats,” a frustrated customer he wrote in X.

“Why does Walmart build 18 or 19 cash registers and no one to man them?

Retailers in the US have become increasingly dependent on self-checkout.

They are supposed to speed up customer payments, but many are not fans of this decision.

Some shoppers have argued that self-checkouts make the procedure more complicated.

While not all Walmart stores in the US have become dependent on self-checkout, customers have not been impressed by these changes.

“This is why I don’t go to Walmart anymore, especially to buy groceries,” said one customer.

“I used to do all my shopping at Walmart with the four kids. The self-checkout must be too much for me,” wrote another.

It appears that many customers want more cash registers to be opened at Walmart stores.

“Walmart is a complete dump… no cashier and 30 people in line to check out… this place is worthless…” wrote one angry shopper on Facebook.

“What kind of customer service is this,” said another.

US Sun has reached out to the retailer for comment.

GROWING DISSATISFACTION

And this is just one of the many complaints customers have about Walmart.

People are also tired of the retailer’s numerous anti-theft measures.

This includes receipt checks and keeping items in locked cabinets.

“Walmart needs to stop harassing honest people,” wrote one shopper on Facebook.

What is Walmart Scan and Go?

Walmart’s Scan and Go is designed to save shoppers time

Walmart’s Scan and Go system was created to help customers scan items as they shop, pay and check out, without waiting in long checkout lines.

The retailer outlines the new system to be implemented in a few easy steps:

  • Customers first need to download the Walmart app on their phone with location access enabled.
  • On the Store Mode home page, buyers must click on the Scan and Go option.
  • Customers can scan each item and place them in their carts as they shop.
  • At the end, they will be asked to view their cart to ensure the quantity in the app matches the quantity in their cart.
  • Shoppers will press “Check Out” and head to a self-checkout kiosk.
  • They will be asked to scan the QR code provided at the cash register and confirm their payment method.
  • Once the transaction is complete, shoppers can leave the store without any worries.

“I showed her the receipt and she still wanted me to speak to customer service to check my items.”

Buyers have complained that these checks are a waste of time and relatively useless.

“All they do is take your receipt and mark it with a box cutter,” said another customer.

“They don’t check your bags to make sure they match your purchases, so this is absolutely no deterrent or solution to shoplifting.”
