McDonald’s revealed the Collector’s Meal release date on Wednesday via Facebook.

“In 20 years, you will be glad you collected all 6 limited edition cups. Collector’s Meal 8.13,” they wrote.

From August 13th, thousands of people will be able to get their hands on a range of retro-style cups.

Plastic cup themes include Hello Kitty, Shrek, Barbie and more.

Customers will be able to order the cups with certain menu items, including a Sausage McMuffin and Egg sandwich during breakfast hours.

Additionally, cups will be available with the purchase of a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac sandwich and soda.

The collector’s items are considered BPA-free and shatter-resistant.

The McDonald’s Collector’s Meal will be available at participating locations while supplies last.

After the news broke, fans rushed to the comments section to share their excitement.

“I just want the Hello Kitty one,” said one Facebook user.

“I need that snoop,” said another.

While many are excited, others are choosing not to give up hope, claiming the cups will “grow out by lunchtime.”

“They also have breakfast. Watch them leave at lunchtime,” one customer wrote.

“It’s sad that they completely disappear within the first 2 hours of being sold,” said another.

A third claimed that McDonald’s staff could take away the merchandise before customers had the chance.

“And let’s see how many McDonald’s employees receive first prize, every time within an hour at our location,” they said.

The new collection cups come in six designs, including:

  • Barbie and Hot Wheels
  • Coca Cola

NEW MENU ITEM

On MondayMcDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski revealed via Food and Wine that they were launching a new burger after revealing that its sales fell during the second quarter of fiscal 2024.

The Big Arch burger weighs 14 ounces and consists of two meaty patties, a “McDonald’s spicy sauce and” crunchy toppings.

The burger also includes three slices of white cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion and pickles.

Kempczinski revealed that the Big Arch was a “quintessential McDonald’s burger with a twist on our iconic, familiar flavors.”

Although the Big Arch is available on the menu, it may be a long time before Americans are able to get their hands on the new menu item.

According to Kempczinski, the new burger is currently being tested in international markets, including Portugal, Canada and an undisclosed third party.

McDonald's also revealed that it will launch a new burger called the Big Arch (not pictured) starting in international markets.
