Bosch is an appliance company that sells microwaves, ovens, dishwashers, and refrigerators.

The brand is owned by BSH Home Appliances, the largest household appliances manufacturer in Europe.

BHS agreed to a $2 million class action settlement to resolve allegations that Bosch appliances were defective because Superior Class Shares.

The company did not admit any wrongdoing.

The plaintiffs argued that the brand’s devices had defective components, resulting in panel failure.

According to the lawsuit, the Bosch appliances were equipped with defective variable frequency drive control panels.

These faulty panels allegedly disappeared, dimmed, became unreadable, or failed completely.

The variable frequency drive control panel is a critical component that consumers rely on to read and set temperatures, cooking times and other essential functions in ovens and microwaves.

Panel failure can significantly affect the usability of the device.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

The class action benefits those who purchased select Bosch products, acquired them as part of a home purchase or renovation, or received them as a gift.

Acceptable documents include model and serial numbers, receipts, checks, credit card statements, warranty records, photographs, repair communications or service invoices.

Level 1(b) benefits provide $400 toward future display failures.

Level 2 benefits involve a three-year extended service plan whereby Bosch will replace failed drive control panels.

What is a class action settlement?

Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or “classes,” a way to come together in court.

These lawsuits are often filed by one or a few people who allege that a company or other entity has harmed a large group of people.

When a lawsuit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar claims to those who filed the lawsuit.

Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue legal action by accepting money.

These payment agreements often include statements from the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.

Pollution, discrimination or false advertising are some examples of what can lead to a class action lawsuit at a company’s door.

To qualify for benefits, class members must present a valid ID complaint form.

The deadline to submit a claim for Level 1(a) benefits is September 3, 2024, while the deadline to file a claim for Level 1(b) or Level 2 benefits is February 12, 2025.

The exclusion and objection deadline was April 25, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the agreement was scheduled for June 13, 2024.
