AMERICANS affected by a certain data breach must act quickly if they want to claim a one-time payment of $4,500.
This happened after Social Security numbers were allegedly unintentionally compromised after a company faced a security attack.

Commercial printing company Newcourse Communications was hit by a data breach in 2022, according to Superior Class Shares.
A lawsuit alleged that the company failed to take reasonable cybersecurity measures before the breach.
The legal action also accused Newcourse Communications of taking too long to inform its customers of the breach.
Affected customers received a letter about the breach in October 2022.
This also included people whose Social Security numbers were not compromised but who could complain that their information was misused.
The data breach reportedly occurred between April 27, 2022 and May 3, 2022.
Newcourse Communications has not admitted any wrongdoing, but has agreed to settle this legal action with a $600,000 grant.
PAYMENTS
Class members could receive a varying amount of money depending on the experience they experienced.
Claimants could receive up to $500 for common data breach expenses such as travel expenses, bank charges and up to five hours of lost time, compensated at $20 per hour.
People who have been victims of documented theft can claim up to $4,000 to reimburse these financial losses.
Applicants were also offered two years of free identity theft monitoring services.
DEADLINES
Class action members should keep two important dates in mind.
The last day that applicants can submit a valid form is August 24, 2024.
This can be done through the agreement website.

Class action members should note that they will need any receipts, invoices, or other related documents ready for the form.
The final approval hearing for the agreement was scheduled for October 11, 2024.
