A HALLOWEEN attraction at a theme park just minutes from the Disneyland Resort will close for good soon.

Participants can experience the iconic experience, if they dare, one last time – but they must act quickly.

Knott’s Berry Farm, which claims to be America’s first theme park, is quickly approaching its annual Halloween celebration, where it transforms into Knott’s Scary Farm, for The Orange County Register.

Starting September 19th and running through October 31st, the Buena Park area within the theme park will be converted for spooky season with fog-filled areas, scare zones and haunted mazes on select nights.

A haunted maze has been extremely popular for the past five years – 2019’s Wax Works.

Despite praise for the maze, Wax Works will cease operation for good after this year’s Knott’s Scary Farm event.

The attraction is aging and a new one will replace it in 2025, for Inside the magic.

The Wax Works haunted maze features a plot about former plastic surgeon and madman Dr. Augustus Scratch.

Dr. Scratch works in an abandoned wax museum and kidnaps victims to dip them into a cauldron of hot wax and “create new works of art.”

The monsters are a mix of bloody flesh and wax and scare park-goers as they brave the haunted maze.

WITH THE NEW

Participants who enjoy the haunted maze should make sure to attend Knott’s Scary Farm later this year before the end of October.

Aside from 2019’s Wax Works, the rest of the haunted mazes have yet to be announced.

The lineup will be confirmed by Knott’s Berry Farm at the Nightmares Revealed fan event on August 22, which is already sold out.

Last year was the 50th anniversary of Knott’s Scary Farm event, so it will be interesting for fans to see how the theme park tries to top it.

Other theme parks are also known for their annual Halloween celebrations, such as Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.

PREPARE FOR THE SCARES

Each has Halloween Horror Nights every year, with 2024 scheduled to run from August 30th to November 3rd.

Universal Orlando HHN Haunted House Schedule

The haunted house lineup for the 2024 Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) at Universal Orlando Resort has been confirmed. Below is a list of what park-goers can expect from the annual spooky season event.

  • A peaceful place
  • Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
  • Insidious: the furthest
  • Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines
  • Monstrous: The Monsters of Latin America
  • Slaughter 2 Movie
  • The Museum: Deadly Exhibitions
  • Main candy factories
  • Elf Party
  • Triplets of Terror

At Universal Orlando Resort Halloween Horror Nightsthere will be 10 haunted houses, five scare zones and a live show.

There are also several updates being made to the Universal and Disney theme parks over the next few years.

Disney World has confirmed major expansions, including a new park area at Magic Kingdom.

Universal Orlando Resort is also expected to open Epic Universal, a new addition to the theme park, in 2025.

America’s “most accessible theme park” may not compete with parks like Universal and Disney, but it has 23 attractions and an indoor water park.

A $422 million water park will also open soon near a major shopping mall.
