“It’s just greedy behavior,” wrote one social media user on Reddit.

“This is just typical corporate behavior. Starbucks and Dunkin recently did something similar with their rewards program.”

“In the old program, you earned $10 in Crumbl Cash for every $100 you spent. If a pack of 12 cookies costs on average between $38 and $48, you only needed to spend between $380 and $480 to get a free pack of 12 cookies,” they added.

“Now you have to spend more to redeem the same item.”

Approximately, to redeem a package of 12 cookies, consumers would have to spend an additional $100 using the new program.

Some speculate that Crumbl announced the rewards program because business hasn’t been that promising.

According to the company’s franchise documents, its average net profit in 2022 was US$298,319.08 – compared to 2021 when it was $357,512.

In other words, the cookie company faced a reduction of almost 17% in net profit.

“It’s an incredibly beautiful app, with the most intuitive ordering experience of any app in the Food and Beverage category,” says Jake Moncur, vice president of engineering at Crumbl.

The company announced that it is revamping the mobile app to include bright new colors and a design that is much easier for customers to navigate.

With the update, the cookie company hopes to cut the red ribbon on its new Crumbl Rewards program.

The Crumbl Rewards program features a tiered system designed to appeal to Crumbl customers at all levels.

Whether someone is using the app as a casual cookie consumer or a dedicated Crumbl fan, there’s a tier for everyone.

The base tier is Bronze, where members can sign up for Crumbl Rewards to earn 10 Crumbs for every dollar spent.
