A SQUARE bank customer has sworn she has quit the financial services company after she deposited her money into a closed account.

Although the bank admitted its error, Anne Renee Timmons-Harris vented on Facebook, saying it would be days before she saw her money.

“Breathing fire right now,” wrote Timmons-Harris in an April 23 Facebook post publish.

The Louisiana native said the financial services company tried to deposit money in a closed bank account.

The bank returned the funds on Monday due to the error, however, Square told Timmons-Harris that the money it would not be added to her account for three to five business days.

“I’m abandoning Square as a credit card payment service,” she wrote in the post.

“I will also stop using the Square website because it is not crawled by search engines on my backup website.”

In a later comment, Timmons-Harris explained that she was on the phone with Square for about two hours trying to get the bank to return the money. money.

“I’m done with them,” she wrote.

Customers at other banks also shared their concerns, including one person who criticized Chase after claiming his account was suddenly closed while traveling abroad.

The person said the incident left them in a difficult situation as they were unable to access their money.

“Chase Bank has closed my account again while I am out of the country,” the person wrote in a Facebook post earlier this month.

The person did not specify where they were traveling, however, they claimed they contacted Chase for assistance after their account was closed.

“I informed them that I was traveling and they said ‘no problem’, but I don’t have any money,” they said.

The customer claimed that the staff on the phone “were rude” and that their international phone numbers did not work.

Sometimes a bank will close an account if they suspect something is fishy.

Customers are often encouraged to contact their bank to inform them of any travel plans, especially if it is out of the country.

What to do when your bank account is closed

Having your bank account closed without warning can be a stressful experience. If you’re not sure why you closed or are worried about your money, here’s what you can do to remedy the situation, as reported by Experian:

  • Contact your bank immediately to find out what you need to do to get your money back.
  • Stop direct deposits and automatic withdrawals. If you receive a direct deposit from your work, be sure to redirect the funds to another account or receive the money via a mailed check until the issue is resolved.
  • File a complaint with the Federal Office of the Comptroller’s Customer Service Group.
  • Consider opening a different type of account with the same bank or another.

Another Chase customer said he was unable to access his money for days after his account was closed.

MaKalie Reed wrote on social media that her account was suddenly closed after she tax the return has been deposited.

She went to the bank herself but was told there was nothing they could do to open the account.
