Matt Campbell said checking out groceries at the grocery store in Little Rock has become increasingly difficult.

“It’s crazy that Costco Little Rock has made checking out so unnecessarily difficult and annoying over the past year that I’m not renewing my membership,” he posted on Xold Twitter.

He touted the benefits of having a Sam’s Club membership.

Sam’s Club shoppers can use scan-and-go technology, which means customers can pay for items through their cell phone app.

Shoppers must show their receipts before leaving, but Sam’s Club bosses are making the process simpler.

The beloved wholesaler is testing technology that will eliminate physical receipt checks.

A pilot program has been launched in 10 stores and Sam’s Club bosses hope to have the technology in hundreds of warehouses across the country by the end of the year.

Buyers will just have to pass through a scanner where the machine does the work.

The technology will scan the items in the cart and confirm that they have been purchased.

Executives say the new system will reduce the time employees have to check pieces of paper, verifying that items were purchased and processed correctly.

‘I have nothing to hide!’ says shopper supports receipt checking measure – but others vow to boycott stores over practice

The technology was revealed at a presentation during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year.

“It’s worth it to eliminate even the few seconds it takes to scan a receipt at the checkout,” said Megan Crozier, chief merchant at Sam’s Club in the US. he said.

The idea of a receipt check has proven controversial, as some buyers feel they have been unfairly targeted when asked to present proof of purchase.

Certain shoppers shared their horror at feeling they were treated like criminals.
