A SECOND chance game has left a lottery player $100,000 richer.
The 51-year-old winner, who chose to remain anonymous, won the Michigan Lottery’s 500X Money Maker second chance game.

He took home the prize after being selected in a random draw held on April 4th.
The Michigan Lottery said he was able to earn entries into the drawing by scanning non-winning 500X Money Maker tickets into its app.
This is where players scan their non-winning tickets to gain entries into a so-called second chance drawing.
“When I checked my email, I saw one from the Michigan Lottery a few days earlier saying I won $100,000,” the winner told lottery officials.

As it was the weekend, the player had to wait until Monday to confirm that he was the winner.
“I bet I called 10 times over the weekend hoping I would get lucky and someone would work overtime and answer the phone!” he added.
SECOND SHOT
Second change draws are where each non-winning 500X Money Maker ticket is eligible for another chance to win a prize.
They range from $500 to $100,000.
Players enter by scanning their non-winning tickets on the Michigan Lottery mobile app ticket scanner by June 21, 2024.
The Lottery has confirmed that there are three more second chance draws.
According to the Michigan Lottery, each drawing will award:
- A $100,000 Winner
- Five $10,000 Winners
- 20 winners of $1,000
- 60 winners of $500
CLAIM YOUR MONEY
Winners can pick up their prizes at Michigan Lottery claim centers by appointment only.
However, delivery and mailing claims are also accepted.
To schedule an appointment, winners can call 844-917-6325.
According to the Michigan Lottery, winners can claim any in-store lottery prize over $600 and up to $99,999.99 for:
- Correspondence
- Scheduling an appointment at a claims center
- Delivery to a claims center
Please note that the first thing winners must do is sign the back of the ticket.
Winners must present the original winning ticket, original photo ID, original Social Security card or completed ticket receipt form.
