The Powerball ticket was purchased at Casey’s Pizzeria and Convenience Store in Des Moines.

The winning numbers were 3-9-10-20-62 and the Powerball was 25.

The last day to claim the prize is June 13, reports Powerball Officials.

Two other unclaimed Powerball prizes worth $50,000 expire this month.

The first comes from a draw held on November 11th.

Someone bought a winning ticket in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the last day to claim the money is May 9th.

The other prize is from the November 25 drawing, and the winner is in Arizona.

The prize will expire on May 23rd.

Although Powerball is a national game, claim periods vary depending on the state.

It is not possible to purchase a ticket in one state and receive Powerball winnings in another.

LOTTO WINNERS WHO LOST EVERYTHING

Therefore, if any of these winners purchased their tickets while on vacation, they will need to return to claim their prize.

WINNER STORIES

Aaron, an Illinois man from St. Charles, about 45 miles west of Chicago, recently claimed his $100,000 Powerball prize.

He was getting ready to leave work when he decided to check his email one more time.

To his surprise, he received a message from the Illinois Lottery notifying him that he had won $100,000.

He told lottery officials he would use the money for home improvements and a trip to the happiest place on earth, Disney World.

But first, he would invite his family over for a steak dinner to celebrate.

Aaron told lottery officials that the win hadn’t yet sunk in when he went to collect his prize.

He chose to receive a one-time payment rather than annual dues payments.

However, due to the 24% federal tax on lottery winnings and the 4.95% state tax, about $28,950 was cut from his prize.

Since a Powerball ticket only costs a few dollars, that still represents a profit of over $71,000.

The US Sun previously reported on the difference between the lump sum and annual payments for lottery winnings.
