Starting today, Chick-fil-A is offering some great deals in honor of National Nurses Week.
However, some fast food fans say you have to work hard to get them.
National Nurses Week begins on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
May 8, 1998, previously designated National Student Nurses Day and should be celebrated annually, according to the American Nurses Association.
However, in 2003, National School Nurse Day was celebrated on the Wednesday of National Nurse Week, May 6-12.
To help celebrate, fast-food chains, coffee shops and more have started offering promotions.
Chick-fil-A is giving away a free chicken biscuit as long as you show valid ID.
However, some fast foodies were disappointed as not all locations offer the deals.
“Went to Chick-fil-A to get my free Nurses Day nuggets, apparently the Huber location isn’t participating so I’m waiting in line for nothing,” wrote one Facebook user.
Another fan noticed that the network was just celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week.
“Happy Nurses Week. I’m disappointed in Chick-fil-A, you’re celebrating teachers but you forgot about us nurses. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week,” wrote another.
WHAT’S THE BUSINESS?
Although many Chick-fil-A locations are offering deals, many have opted out.
This is because the chicken chain operates as a franchise.
The franchise model allows an independent business owner to operate and manage the established brand.
This means that the owner will be able to use the company’s brand, business model and other intellectual properties.
To purchase a Chick-fil-A franchise, you must pay $10,000 in non-donated, non-borrowed funds for the initial fee.
Potential homeowners cannot have any bankruptcy in their financial history and must have five years of experience.
