Workers were seen at the establishment, which closed on May 2, and have been removing signs, according to The Independent Marshall.

And the facilities have already been put up for sale.

It was advertised for US$700,000, according to the outlet.

Another Taco John’s restaurant in Worthington, Minnesota – located about 60 miles from Sioux Falls, South Dakota – also closed.

The Worthington facility is for sale for $550,000.

Both restaurants have been removed from the restaurant’s list of locations on its website.

The closures left fans in mourning, prompting them to share memories of eating at the Mexican restaurant.

“This was always a must when I came back to the city,” said one fan when reacting to the closures on social media.

“Sad. I remember the day it arrived in town,” said another commenter.

Taco John’s, founded in 1969, has been part of the fast-food scene for decades and the chain has almost 400 stores all over the country.

The network is present in more than 20 states, including Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan and Minnesota.

Walgreens was forced to close the location for good despite new security measures after a series of robberies left workers terrified

There are also Taco John’s restaurants located in Ohio, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin.

Last year, Taco John’s restaurants in Kennewick, Washington, Minneapolis and Champaign, Illinois, closed for good.

The Champaign restaurant closed when bosses revealed the building’s lease was about to end, due to Smile politely.

A note on the doors said the chain had appreciated its customers over the years.

Restaurant Closings in 2024

BOSSes of major restaurant chains have announced a series of restaurant closures. The US Sun compiled a list of those affected by the network.

  • Biscuit Barrel: Stores in Medford, Oregon, Columbia, South Carolina and Sacramento, California, closed.
  • Mod Pizza: Bosses drastically closed 27 stores, including in the state of California.
  • Frisch’s Big Boy: Restaurant bosses have confirmed the closure of a restaurant in Covington, Kentucky.
  • Two dolars: Four restaurants in Ohio are set to close.
  • Pepper: A restaurant in Port Arthur, Texas, has closed permanently.
  • Friendly: Bosses have confirmed that an establishment in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, will close.
  • Pizza Hut: A restaurant in Glen Falls, New York, closed at the end of March.
  • Danny: Two restaurants in Boise and Nampa, Idaho, have closed.
  • Carl’s Jr.: The first location in Boise, Idaho, has closed.

The restaurant had been open for about six years before closing for good.

Executives from renowned restaurant chains made the decision to close establishments.

Earlier this year, top brass at Bloomin Brands revealed that more than 40 restaurants in its portfolio of chains would close.

Outback Steakhouse, one of the Bloomin Brands chains, was impacted.

Outback locations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Akron, Ohio and the state of Hawaii have closed to the public.

OTHER RESTAURANT CLOSURES

Bonefish Grill’s only Delaware location and the seafood chain’s restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri, also closed.

Bloomin Brands bosses said the decision had been made to close underperforming outlets.

Applebee’s, a chain popular with families, also saw widespread store closures.

President Tony Moralejo warned earlier this year that the network could suffer between 25 and 35 net outages.

An Applebee’s restaurant in Waco, Texas, recently closed, while another in Hudson, New York, will close on May 19.

The US Sun also reported how Chili’s and Cracker Barrel also closed stores.

Last month, Cracker Barrel bosses decided to close the chain’s last remaining restaurant in Sacramento, California.

Poor financial performance is a common factor in the decision behind a store closure, but executives at some companies have warned about the impact of crime.

A Denny’s restaurant in Oakland, California, closed in January and the shutdown was linked to crime.

An In-N-Out establishment in the city also closed in March due to illegality.
