FANS can get their hands on a new Chips Ahoy! cookie flavor starting this month.
The brand announced the launch of the special addition to its food lineup on Monday.
Customers who have a gluten allergy or who abstain from consuming gluten for any reason will be able to enjoy the Original version of the chocolate chip cookie, as per Food and Wine.
Chips Ahoy! explained in a press release that it went “where it’s never gone before” with the flavor, officially known as Chips Ahoy! Gluten-Free Biscuit.
To create the gluten-free cookie, the brand reportedly spent a lot of time – several years – to ensure it tasted almost identical to gluten-containing cookies.
A total of 40 recipes were created before arriving at the perfected process, which took more than 3,000 hours.
Jainette Quinones, brand manager at Chips Ahoy! Innovation, emphasized that her team wanted to get it right and she feels they created an “absolutely delicious cookie for anyone to enjoy.”
“When we decided to create our first gluten-free Chips Ahoy! cookie, we didn’t want it to be a good gluten-free cookie; we wanted it to be a great cookie that was also gluten-free,” Quinones said in a statement.
“I’m proud to say our innovation team was successful.”
Chips Ahoy! insisted he didn’t want to “rush the process” and ended up finding “a superior product that would delight both cookie fans and the gluten-free community.”
“Because gluten-free doesn’t necessarily mean tasteless,” the company added.
The fries Ahoy! The gluten-free cookie is also not a limited-time flavor.
It is here to stay forever as an option always available to customers.
CHANGE APPROVED
Apparently, some have already found specially marked packaging at their local retailers and tried the new cookies to see if they go with the ones with gluten.
Most fan response has been positive so far.
“It took Chips Ahoy over 3,000 hours and 40 different recipes, but they finally perfected a gluten-free Chips Ahoy cookie that tastes exactly like the original,” one person wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
“I love it! Thank you for making this happen!” another exclaimed.
“My God,” commented a third fan.
“Cool!” someone exclaimed.
We didn’t want it to be a good gluten-free cookie; we wanted it to be a great cookie that was also gluten-free.

It’s unclear when Chips Ahoy! will officially launch the gluten-free cookie, but fans are likely to see the product appear at many nearby retailers by the end of May.
CHANGING
As The US Sun previously reported, Chips Ahoy! also changed the recipe for its Original flavor for the first time in 10 years in March.
The brand called it “MMMproven” taking into consideration the correct texture and quantity of chocolate chips for customers.
There were more than 60 recipe tests and 5,000 hours invested in this project compared to the gluten-free biscuit.
Chips Ahoy! also changed the packaging of the original cookie to reflect the updated recipe.
