BURGER KING is launching a new dessert menu item to celebrate its 70th anniversary.

The fast food titan will begin selling its new birthday pie slices nationwide for a limited time.

The slices feature “creamy birthday cake-flavored pie filling” in a graham cracker crumb crust.

They will be topped with rainbow sprinkles, whipped topping and cake pieces.

The birthday pie slices will appear at Burger King restaurants on Monday, May 13.

It’s unclear how long the new item will be in stock.

“As we celebrate our milestone anniversary in June, we are proud of the legacy this brand has built,” said Pat O’Toole, chief marketing officer, in a statement. Press release.

On June 1st, the chain’s exact anniversary, customers will receive a free Slice of Birthday Pie with any purchase of 70 cents or more.

TASTE TEST

Although the slices haven’t been released yet, an employee has secured the new slice of the pie on Facebook.

They commented on a post about the food blog’s new pie Snack bet.

“I work at bk, it’s good,” they said.

Customers took to the comments section to share their opinions ahead of the launch.

“I’m going to need some of that,” one of them said.

Another said: “I hope it tastes as good as it looks.”

Others, however, were less enthusiastic about the pie’s appearance.

“It looks sad, but I’ll try,” said one.

“It looks very sad, but it could be good,” replied another.

CHANGES AT BURGER KING

Burger King recently announced that it would “modernize” most of its restaurants.

Its new “Sizzle” design includes a reimagined layout and updated look.

The chain will spend $300 million on renovations over the next four years.

Last month, the company shared another temporary menu.

A network employee recently surprised social media by sharing an internal secret.

Rumors recently surfaced online that Burger King was closing.
