The player, who was not identified, matched five numbers and lost the jackpot worth US$363 million.

Authorities said the ticket was purchased at a store in San Antonio, located about 30 miles from Tampa, according to the Fox affiliate. WOFL.

The Florida gambler defied odds of about one in 12 million to win the $1 million prize.

The player has around six months to come forward and claim the prize.

But the timeline for claiming the prizes varies from country to country.

Some winners must report within 90 days, while others have a year.

The lawyers revealed steps winners must take before performing.

Florida Lawyer John Phillips urged winners to store the ticket in a waterproof and fireproof place.

He also recommended that winners sign the back of their ticket.

Lottery winners should call a lawyer or tax specialist who can advise, according to the lawyer.

He urged jackpot holders to scrutinize people asking for a share of their prize and urged winners not to be idiots.

Lottery players can test their luck by purchasing a ticket that costs just $2.

But they will have to defy odds of more than one in 302.5 million to land the life-changing sum.

In comparison, the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are one in 292 million.
