New Yorkers are getting relief through the School Tax Relief Program (STAR).
STAR aims to help homeowners with a property tax credit.
The amount New Yorkers can receive depends on their residence, age, income and property.
Those over age 65 and earning less than $98,000 are eligible to receive the Enhanced STAR credit.
New Yorkers who earn less than $500,000 are eligible for the basic credit, while those who earn less than $250,000 are eligible for the STAR exemption, according to the New York State website.
Eligible recipients can calculate the credit amount using Federal Form 1040 and NYS Form IT-201.
