Planet Fitness is adjusting its hours for one day next week

Memorial Day is celebrated to honor those who died in the U.S. Armed Forces.

It’s also a great day to prepare the grill for a barbecue.

Regardless of what you’re planning for your vacation, you may want to stick to your normal routine.

While Planet Fitness will remain open on Memorial Day, some fitness fanatics should note that they may need to make other arrangements.

Hours are subject to variation by location, multiple Planet Fitness spokespeople told The US Sun.

Gym-goers can still enjoy their Memorial Day workout on Monday, May 27, but should check with their local Planet Fitness before planning a trip.

A representative for Planet Fitness in Queens, New York, told US Sun that the gym plans to open at its usual time of 5am.

However, it will close at 1 pm instead of 11 pm due to the holiday.

And it’s business as usual for a 24-hour Planet Fitness in Bakersfield, California.

A representative for the location told The US Sun that it plans to remain open all day with no schedule adjustments.

Sam’s Club and retailers adjust hours for Memorial Day

Meanwhile, a Planet Fitness located east of Tampa, Florida, is scheduled to open at 7 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. on the holiday.

Planet Fitness is typically open 24 hours on weekdays and from 7am to 7pm on weekends.

While Planet Fitness is unlikely to close on Memorial Day, its members should check their local gym’s hours before making the trek next Monday.

MORE ADJUSTMENTS ON MEMORIAL DAY

Those with a Costco card should plan to shop on Sunday for the upcoming party.

The store, like many others, is closing its doors for the holidays.

Planet Fitness Membership Price Change

For the first time, the company has confirmed that it is increasing membership prices

Classic Card members will have to pay $5 more starting this summer – $10 to $15 a month.

Those with the higher-tier Black Card at $24.99 per month could also see an increase, with “price tests” to come.

The difference:

Classic Card members can only go to the location where they have a subscription and cannot bring a companion.

Meanwhile, Black Card members can bring a guest and have access to any Planet Fitness.

Planet Fitness’ CEO said the increase is necessary to account for inflation, which would make the $10 membership in 1998 $20 today.

Target and Kroger will remain open, but with adjusted hours.

Sam’s Club will also remain open on Memorial Day this year, but there will be time changes to its schedule.

The warehouse club will close two hours earlier at 6pm instead of 8pm to give employees time to enjoy the holiday.

Postal services are also affected.

FedEx will close many locations, while others will operate reduced hours.

All UPS locations will be closed.

A popular shopping mall chain has announced that it will change its hours for Memorial Day.

If you’re traveling this weekend, airlines are warning you to expect chaos.
