AN Aldi shopper noticed a drop in quality for an item he frequently repurchased.
The texture was all wrong for the Aldi customer who vented on Reddit about a change she noticed in her favorite cheese.
A poster at Aldi subreddit wrote about an item they recently criticized.
“Pueblo Lindo Mexican Cheese No Bueno,” says the headline.
They described the “last two claws” of the cheese as having been “extra rubbery.”
The complaint continued with allegations that Aldi went from “premium cheese” to “dollar store cheese,” they continued.
Wondering what went wrong, they described the now-defunct dairy as having turned from a “creamy white” to a “whitish, yellowish color.”
“I want my money back,” they continued.
Closing the post, they asked if anyone knew why the quality might have changed.
According to InstacartMexican white cheese costs $3.29 a package and is meant to be “enjoyed as a snack or crumbled into dishes or salads.”
No other Reddit user confirmed the changes claimed by the poster.
The US Sun reached out to Aldi to ask for comment.
UNMISSABLE ITEMS
This isn’t the first time Aldi customers have questioned the retailer about certain unsavory food discoveries.
A customer shared an image of two worm-like figures on the lid of a new jar of banana peppers they bought at Aldi.
Meanwhile, another Aldi customer said the raw chicken they bought in store had “brown and black liquid coming out” when defrosted.
But they were quickly corrected by other Redditors who said the food in question was not chicken, but defrosted bananas.
Aldi return policy

Aldi has a return policy that can benefit customers who try edible products and don’t like them. It’s called the Twice as Nice Guarantee and it allows customers to try something else at no cost. The US Sun put together a short list of the rules and benefits of the policy on the retailer’s website.
- It must be an Aldi brand product
- Receipt is mandatory
- Original packaging of the item is required
- Any remaining unused portion of the food or drink must be visible
- Meeting the requirements will result in a full refund
- Aldi customers can also get a replacement product for their problems
Aldi has previously defended itself against shoppers who claim they have found maggots in its pine nuts, sour cheese and moldy yoghurts.
User X once posted a photo of his moldy pepperoni.
And another user complained directly to Aldi on X.
“I bought pasta about a week and a half ago and when I went to cook it a few days later, it was already moldy (it was stored in the fridge),” they wrote.
Meanwhile, some Outback customers got refunds on their gift cards after 41 of its restaurants closed.
Additionally, Amazon, Macy’s and Walmart are updating their store return policies in response to an increase in the number of returned items.
